Happy New Year!
And 2016 is over! People celebrate it like it's something big but honestly speaking I feel like it is a day like any other. Not completely, but pretty much.
In my family we have tradition that aren't to be breached. No poultry, no fish, no taking out trash - all of these will take away your luck in the next year. And most importantly - like on new year's, like that the whole year. So no one is doing anything, no work, no things you would have to do in a regular day. But all of these are really just that - traditions. They are beautiful and I will cherish them for the rest of my life.
Today is also the 24th anniversary of Slovak Republic creation, so historically speaking it's a very important day.
To me the most precious thing is probably the fact that I was at home after a crazy night in Bratislava where I watched the fireworks from probably the best spot in the city! And then I went home and had a family lunch with both my grandmas at the table. The family gathered together and that was a happy new year for me!
