1st assembly
First assembly took me incredible 13 hours straight at a computer. I haven't gone outside and my eyes hurt.
Watching over the rushes I thought the takes would be much better, as well as the framing. A different choice in location would've helped too I believe. It was too small and too cramped - and that is majorly showing on the footage but can I do anything about it now? Nope. The only thing I can do is to give it my best and try everything.
I know director should be with the editor during this process, however, frankly speaking, after what I had to go through with Maria, I am happy to not have to sit with her in the editing suite. I've had enough of her and spending extra hours sitting next to her would probably send me to a shrink or to jail. And I want neither. I would rather keep my sanity and my freedom and I know I will get beef for this, but I am happy to edit without the director this time around and I know it's not the right thing to say.
