Home is still the same...
After a dreadfully long journey home me and my brother finally made it. We are in our town and it's the best feeling ever. But is it really?
I cannot explain how much I love the feeling of being able to walk out of my house and out straight being in downtown and having it like 7 minutes from my favorite café where I worked during the summer and like 5 minutes from all the pubs and bars. You see I never have it far from anything in here. Mainly because my home town is quite small as well.
The main thing I hate about this small town is that EVERYBODY STARES!!! Jesus, mate, do you have nothing else to look at? Is my eyeliner smudged or do I just look weird in general? I don't know, I will probably have to ask my friends in London what they think because I mean, at this point I think they know me as good as the people I grew up with. I don't know maybe it's just me, but I feel that staring at someone is just incredibly rude. I mean "WTF is your problem mate?!" If you see something you don't like, come and tell me, eh! Otherwise ignore me, please. Just like I ignore you.
Having time I can spend with my family and friends (that basically are family) is something I always look forward to. I miss my family especially when it's close to departure and I think many international students feel the same way.
Even though I will have to work over Christmas holiday on editing the adaptation project (as many other people) I can't complain because it's something I want to do. Very much, no matter what someone has to say. There are also a few essays that are to be done so I will have to work a load to make it all but it's in my deepest hopes I will manage as much as possible.
Anyway it's just great to be home and literally feel the fire of the family (the fire place is lit) and tomorrow I am off again to Schladming, Austria to ski the hell out of the next 4 days and to be honest I can't wait to spend this time with my parents and my brother. Even though my dad loves to joke that it's a punishment for me and my brother to have to spend time with the parents without the choice of retreat. He's just such a funny guy. Sometimes...
