A long day

December 12th of 2016 was an extremely long day at the set of Denizali's Apple. As a costume designer I haven't slept for 2 nights sewing the hell out of this sheet dress for people, who I haven't even seen a picture of, which made it extremely difficult to make a bra of vine leaves for the actress when I don't even know cup size. It was quite awkward to find out she was a double D while the bra I was making was a B. A HUGE difference. Plus I didn't even know I was making a bra covered with leaves until the night before. Talk about telling someone something ahead of time so they are not surprised and come prepared, okay?

As I was saying it was a very long day that drained out a lot of energy and enthusiasm just didn't flow through my body by 8.30pm when we were 30 minutes behind on schedule since Alex, the beautiful actress, was supposed to leave at 8pm. I was up since early morning after about 2 and a half hours of sleep and if you ask me at 2pm I first considered killing someone.

The actors though were amazing. Just an absolute delight to work with. Alex and Gregory are two amazingly talented young actors, who I expect to see on the big screen sometime very soon. And I can't even come close to describing Alberto, who played the Devil - his face has that perfect amount of evilness in that gets you completely convinced. Italian - what more can I say. The only thing is I feel so sorry to them for the weather and the cold and all those unpredictable thing that we as filmmakers have to predict and prepare accordingly. But yet again we were struck down unprepared. Unpredictable.

All in all it was a very unique shoot with very unique people with incredible ideas that went just like any set anywhere else I think. A little delayed, a little stressed and time pressed, a little disorganised and chaotic and with a director, who would do pretty much anything for his vision. It was great. Was fun and stress but in the end everything worked out great. Seriously.

So yeah. Overall I really hope it turns out as big as Denizali wants it to be, however many time my inner script supervisor was freaking out and having mental breakdowns because of continuity but I really wish everything will turn out great. Especially when I look at all the work done in pre-production.
