The Greyhound
Some days and nights don't go as expect them to go. Sometimes they go better...
I thought I would just grab one beer with a few of my friends after our Avid Media Composer workshop in The Greyhound and we turned out to meet our teacher Gyorgy there. I really like his lectures and workshops but his "office hours" in The Greyhound are even better. One on one conversations about movies, ideas, assignments and lectures is just great and I have never had this kind of a relationship with a teacher before. I like having this kind of "apprentice" position towards Gyorgy instead of the typical "teacher-student" relationships I used to have even with my favourite teachers back home. Mrs. Papcunova was my most favourite teacher and even to this day I often remember many of her teachings but our relationship was that of a teacher and a student. Even when I meet her in the streets of my home town and we have a nice chat I still don't feel the same way as when I talk to Gyorgy. So I am actually very happy for having a lecturer like this. Plus... having "office hours" in a pub... c'mon, that's pretty amazing, eh?
And another interesting thing about The Greyhound is that you never know who you meet there. I met two 3rd years this time and I found myself doing SFX makeup for their film in March.
So yeah. The Greyhound is a place of unexpected meetings and happenings. Go to The Greyhound if you want something interesting to happen in your life.
