Actually it's enough (production update)
All throughout the whole production of True Honey music video our group, The 4th Exit Productions, have had so many struggles.
While the other groups were almost 2 weeks into pre-productions, we technically still weren't a group, later on, I as a director, struggled with a story not being comprehensible and accepted the constructive criticism I received after the first pitch. I worked on the story and improved it.
But I still heard people telling me we will not have enough footage and that I should extend the whole thing more.
After shooting on Monday though and then the first day in the DMW I found out we actually have enough footage for a longer piece as well. We decided to trim the song down to 2 and a half minutes which plays out perfectly to be completely honest.
The only thing that will give us major pains in the backs is the colour grading. Some of the shots were overexposed, but in the end our DoP was not on the set because of family emergency and we called another to help us out. I knew he was a good DoP, never heard a bad word about him, I've even seen his work and it was good, but what the hell happened on Monday? Why is over 50% of the footage overexposed of too dark? I don't get it.
Here are also my shotlists and storyboards.
